After 24 years at the same location, Horizon is moving to a new office.

Our office staff has more than doubled since the early years. This move will allow for more growth and position us to be a more efficient company.

Our computer systems will be upgraded from a pier to pier network to a network server. The network server will allow us to up-grade our estimating systems to integrate all trades into one job takeoff instead of the individual takeoffs that are required now. The new estimating process will incorporate digitizing tables to assist with the takeoff. The use of the new estimating system will let the estimating team streamline their materials and equipment takeoff and communicate the information directly to the computer. There will no longer be a need for the estimate to go to paper before the data is input to the computer.

The new office will now have a receptionist to greet our customers and vendors sales personnel and schedule appointments.

These changes will give us the opportunity to become more efficient, productive and competitive in this new and changing economy.

Horizon is taking steps towards minimizing the impact of soaring gas prices.

We have donated the last of our one ton vehicles to Habitat for Humanity and purchased another Ford Ranger. This brings the total of small trucks up to four. As gas prices continue to increase we will be looking at revisiting all of the vehicles in our fleet to find ways to minimize the gas impact.

One of the things that will help is having materials delivered to the job sites instead of using our vehicles for pick up and delivery. This will also cause our field personnel to be more efficient with materials ordering and project management.

Committing to these changes will have a larger positive impact when gas prices decrease.

Horizon is back working with Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys.

We have been involved with Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys for approximately eight years. This year we are pleased to offer our support with two more houses.

Horizon has a fantastic staff that is willing and ready to donate their time on Saturdays to provide the labor necessary to complete the plumbing systems. The materials are also donated by Horizon to minimize the additional cost for the new owners.

We appreciate the opportunity to help with this worthy cause and look forward to a long and beneficial relationship.
